Singing the Sephardic Diaspora: An Evening of Judeo-Spanish —

In this lecture-recital, recent Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) graduate Sarah Riskind will discuss Mediterranean features of Sephardic music and how these elements can be highlighted in arrangements for chorus. The Seattle Jewish Chorale (directed by Jacob Finkle) will perform a selection of classic Judeo-Spanish songs, including “Par’o Era Estrellero,” “Durme, Durme,” and “Cuando el Rey Nimrod.”
